MISSION 

The mission of the Health Sciences program at Texas State University is to provide an interdisciplinary, flexible curriculum grounded in health sciences. Through engaged learning and career alignment, the program prepares students for professional roles in health-related fields and success in graduate and professional education, while fostering a commitment to ethical standards and lifelong learning. 

 

PROGRAM OUTCOMES 

Upon graduation from the health sciences program, students will be able to: 

  1. Apply core concepts from the health sciences and health care systems to analyze and address health-related issues. 
  1. Use critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning to evaluate health information, research, and practices. 
  1. Demonstrate ethical reasoning, professionalism, cultural responsiveness, and a commitment to patient-centered care. 
  1. Communicate health-related information effectively in written, oral, and professional formats. 
  1. Demonstrate readiness for employment in health-related fields and/or for success in graduate or professional education. 
  1. Demonstrate competency in applied, clinical, or technical skills aligned with the student’s selected concentration or career pathway.
