The vision of the clinic is to meet the health needs of society by providing a collaborative model for clinical services in the Central Texas community and beyond.

The mission of the clinic is to optimize the health and wellness of the Central Texas community by providing access to quality physical therapy services for those who are uninsured or underinsured.

Hours of Operation:

Tuesdays During the Academic Fall, Spring and Summer Semesters.

5pm to 7pm

Eligibility for Pro Bono Services at the Community-Access Physical Therapy Clinic: Financial need is the primary factor used to determine eligibility for services. Potential clients agree to complete the Eligibility Intake Form so that financial need can be assessed. To be eligible for services, a potential client must have a household income less than 300% of the Federal Poverty Level AND must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be uninsured
  • Have no remaining physical therapy benefits for the year
  • Have a significantly high co-pay or deductible for physical therapy compared to disposable income

Preference for appointments will be given to those with a significant debilitating condition, and we are unable to treat patients under 18 years of age.

Eligibility will be decided by one of our 5 referral sources listed below or faculty discretion. If you are interested in being seen in the Community Access Clinic, please obtain a referral from one of the providers listed below. Once your referral has been received by the Community Access Clinic, you will be contacted by our scheduling team. The clinic often has a waiting list; therefore, it may be a couple weeks until you are contacted.

Cancellations / No-Shows:

A 24-hour notice is required for cancellation of a scheduled appointment. If a client has 2 cancellations or 2 no-shows, the clinic coordinator reserves the right to discharge the client for the remainder of the semester. We will attempt to contact the client to inform them about discharge; if unsuccessful, the referring physician will be notified of the discharge from our clinic. Once a client is discharged from our clinic, a new referral must be obtained by a physician to begin services again. If discharged for this reason, a client may be added to the waiting list for possible future openings.

Clinician Supervisors:

The Community Access Clinic relies on volunteer local physical therapist clinicians to supervise students and provide consultation.  To volunteer with the Community Access Clinic, please send an email to txstcommaccessclinic@gmail.com
