Dr Beauvais specializes in graduate level instructional design in the areas of applied finance, business valuation, and executive leadership focused on quality improvement. He is interested in research of health care organization quality, patient safety, and financial performance and has published in Health Services Research, Healthcare, the Journal of Medical Internet Research, Health Care Management Review, the Journal of Healthcare Management and several others.

Research Interests:

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “an ideal population health outcome metric should reflect a population’s dynamic state of physical, mental, and social well-being.” (Parrish, 2010). Oftentimes, population research in public health is defined in terms of geographies, ethnicity, age or gender characteristics.

One neglected population-set which has unique needs is comprised of the Active-duty Service member (SM), the Military Family member, and the Veteran populations. This population-set contains unique stressors, challenges, benefits and characteristics which present the research community with a myriad of opportunities.

Additionally, there is a ‘Perfect Storm’ of events that is currently evolving to make this population set desirable for the research community to explore. First, both the U.S. Department of Defense and the US Veterans Administration continue the implementation of the GENESIS Electronic Health Record (E.H.R.). Once fully implemented, it will provide a SM’s longitudinal health history from initial date of military service to his or her date of death. Second, the Congressional National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2017 is mandating a number of initiatives which will enhance the Military Health System’s (MHS) ability to deliver healthcare in an integrated (Joint) manner between Services, utilizing emerging technologies such as telemedicine, virtual health, and medical modeling and simulation. This ‘synergy’ of efforts provide many opportunities for joint collaboration between the MHS community and Texas State University.

My current research is focused on exploring effective health-related interventions in the Active-duty SM population, the Military Dependent/Family population, and the Veteran population. My overall goal is to assist these groups in achieving a well-deserved dynamic state of physical, mental, and social well-being. The recent conflicts in Operations Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Iraqi Freedom (Iraq) yielded a cornucopia of valuable lessons-learned in many domains from trauma medicine, to rehabilitation to behavioral health resiliency and treatment. My plan is to continue working with currently available data sources that allow me to conduct longitudinal research in a similar manner to what my colleagues and I achieved in the DoD Epidemiological and Economic Burden of Hearing Loss Study (DEEBoHLS), which produced valuable recommendations for health interventions to SMs at risk of hearing loss.

Melinda joined the School of Health Administration in August 2025 as the Administrative Assistant III. She brings over 12 years of experience providing executive administrative and clerical support across multiple departments at the Gary Job Corps Center.

Dr. Lee's primary research agenda includes exploration and writing in the areas of organizational leadership, organizational culture, and strategic management in acute, post-acute, outpatient, ambulatory, non-traditional, and wellness healthcare environments.

Dr. Lee's intent with research in and between these three very important areas (organizational leadership, organizational culture, and strategic management) is to ultimately help determine best practices/models in healthcare, which will in turn lead to more effective and efficient delivery systems within our state and nation.

Organizational leadership studies include research and publication in specific topics of servant leadership, team leadership, teaming, perceptions of leadership styles of team leaders, women’s styles of leadership, physician leadership, cross-collaborative (of various disciplines and generations) leadership and communication, and spiritual leadership. The impact, influence, and interrelationship of leadership, culture, and strategy on contemporary healthcare trends, changes, and business models are and will be likely and frequently of interest.

The Organizational Culture studies includes perception of culture in general; perception of the specific components making up culture by various health care organization team members and disciplines; determinants of culture; leaders’ impact on culture; and interrelationship of leadership, culture, and strategic management.

The Strategic Management studies include research into tools, practices, effects, and trends of strategic thinking, planning, management, control, execution, and communication within the healthcare organization and within the community being impacted by various healthcare organizations.

Research methods include associate engagement survey, physician engagement, and organizational evaluation data; various leadership assessments (such as Myers-Briggs Indicator & True Colors data); focus group interviews; case studies; organizational operational results; and systematic literature reviews. This list of methods is not exclusive. Research includes both quantitative and qualitative, frequently mixed design.

Research Interests:

Dr. Pradhan’s research examines the performance of healthcare organizations, with a particular focus on long-term care services such as nursing homes. He applies organizational and strategic management theories to study how quality of care, financial performance, and access can be improved in this critical sector of the U.S. healthcare system.
His research has been supported by funding from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the National Institute on Aging (NIA), and other federal agencies. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, with recent work appearing in journals such as Medical Care, The Gerontologist, and the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association. He has also presented his findings at national and international conferences, including AcademyHealth and the Gerontological Society of America.

Dr. Pradhan has taught a wide range of courses across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. His teaching portfolio includes classes in healthcare management, healthcare policy, quality improvement, and health information management, as well as advanced doctoral seminars on organizational theory, organizational behavior, and leadership.

Robin joined the School of Health Administration in May 2025 as the Administrative Assistant II. A graduate of Texas State University, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with concentrations in Biochemistry and Pre-Dental Studies in Fall 2024.

My research focuses on the psychosocial aspects of gerontology through a life course perspective, including social isolation and quality of life. I am particularly interested in developing and evaluating community-integrated, age-friendly models that foster resilience through multidisciplinary collaboration, drawing on insights from public health and social care. Additionally, I lead healthcare quality improvement initiatives, applying evidence-based methods to enhance patient outcomes and strengthen health system performance.

He has been active researcher in the topics of healthcare, engineering, applied science, data envelopment, patterns of earthquake, and anthropology.

Dr. Eric Weaver’s research and scholarly interests focus on value-based healthcare transformation, population health management, and health equity. His work explores strategies to advance accountable care models, enhance payer-provider collaboration, and optimize risk-based contracting to improve both clinical and financial outcomes.
His research also delves into healthcare workforce development, particularly in preparing future healthcare administrators to lead in an era of value-driven care. He is committed to integrating emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and predictive analytics, into population health strategies to enhance care coordination, reduce hospitalizations, and improve patient engagement.
Dr. Weaver has a strong interest in Lifestyle Medicine, emphasizing the role of preventive care, whole-person health, and social determinants of health in chronic disease management. He investigates the integration of nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and behavioral health interventions into value-based care models, aiming to reduce healthcare costs while improving patient well-being.
