If you intend to apply to one of our undergraduate Health Professions programs (Clinical Laboratory Science, Communication Disorders, Nursing, Radiation Therapy, and/or Respiratory Care), your major may be listed as Health Sciences with a Pre-Program concentration.
If you are accepted into one of those programs, your major will change to that program. If you are not accepted or not interested in applying, you have the option to graduate with your Pre-Program concentration in Health Sciences.

This concentration is intended for students that are preparing for a career in occupational therapy. It includes prerequisites for many occupational therapy master's and doctorate programs.
A specific bachelor's degree is not required to apply to an OT program. As long as a student completes a bachelor's degree and the prerequisites for the program, they will meet the educational requirements for the program.

This concentration is intended for students that are preparing for a career in physical therapy. It includes the prerequisite courses needed for Texas State's Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) program as well as many other Physical Therapy programs.
A specific bachelor's degree is not required to apply to a DPT program. As long as a student completes a bachelor's degree and the prerequisites for the program, they will meet the educational requirements for the program.

This concentration is intended for students that are preparing for a career in chiropractic medicine. It includes the prerequisite courses needed for most accredited chiropractic programs in the United States.
The two chiropractic schools in Texas are the Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, TX and the Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, TX.
