Curriculum

This 100%-online program is designed for Registered Respiratory Therapists who want to advance their knowledge and skills in critical care, research, education, leadership and management. Respiratory therapists who hold an associate degree in respiratory care can earn a Bachelor of Science through this 32-credit-hour completion program, including any required prerequisites. The curriculum is delivered in accelerated eight-week courses, providing flexibility for working professionals. Students may begin the program at the start of any academic semester.

Requirements

To be considered for admission to the program, applicants must meet or exceed the following requirements:

Admission Requirements

  • Graduate from a respiratory care program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • Admission to Texas State University.
  • Admission to the RRT-to-BSRC Online Completion Program.

Program-Specific Admission Requirements

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). 
    • This requirement may be waived until the third semester of enrollment.
  • Completion of the General Education Core Curriculum. Students may complete remaining core curriculum requirements concurrently with the respiratory care coursework; however, all requirements must be fulfilled to earn the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care (BSRC) degree.
