What is a Healthcare Administrator, and what are its technical requirements?
Medical and health services managers plan, direct, and coordinate the business activities of healthcare providers (BLS.gov). A healthcare administrator is involved with the daily operations of a medical facility, particularly staffing, efficiency and finance. If you pursue the career path in healthcare administration, you could work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes and outpatient clinics.
Healthcare is growing at a faster rate than most industries. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates that healthcare employment will grow 32% from 2020 to 2030, creating about 139,600 new jobs.
Technical requirements for this role are aligned with the Health Leadership Alliance and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
