Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas

Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas (originating as Children’s Hospital of Austin) opened on June 30, 2007 as the newest member of the Seton Family of Hospitals. Located on approximately 32 acres of redeveloping Mueller community, the $200 million facility is a combination of "high tech and high touch" that spans nearly one-half million square feet, three times as big as Children's Hospital of Austin. Dell Children’s is the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in Central Texas and the third in the state of Texas. Since 2007, Dell Children’s has opened the Pediatric Neurosurgery Center of Central Texas, created the Comfort Zone, a one-of-a-kind Emergency Department program which optimizes children's comfort and care to reduce the fear and pain that can accompany a child's visit to the ED, and began offering Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) services. In addition, the hospital maintains a 25-bed Level 3 NICU, a 24-bed PICU, a regional Heart Program, pediatric and neonatal ground and air transport, Asthma Care services, a Sleep Disorders and Respiration Program, a Cystic Fibrosis Care Center and Tracheostomy/Ventilator Program.
