1. Why are the programs moving to RR?
Growth, a new spacious building will enrich the programs as follows:
- Allows increase in enrollment numbers
- New research facilities with new research opportunities
- Collaborative opportunities with area healthcare facilities

2. Will parking be available near Willow Hall?
Parking is definitely a plus on the Round Rock campus as they do not experience the same congestion as the San Marcos campus. Parking will be available within walking distance to Willow Hall.

3. What kind of student housing or dorms will be available?
Although there are no dorms on the Round Rock campus, there are many apartment complexes near campus. Texas State has worked closely with apartment management to develop "student-friendly apartment leases" recognizing the academic school year and student needs.

4. Will I be able to participate in extra activities held at the San Marcos campus as a student at the Round Rock campus?
There are many opportunities for program-specific student organizations to engage in student activities in the Round Rock community. Technology will be available for students in organizations to connect with their San Marcos partners through Zoom, Skype, etc.

5. Is there a shuttle service from San Marcos to Round Rock?
Not at this time.

7. Is there food service on the Round Rock campus?
Food service will be available in the Avery Building in late June 2018.

8. Is there a Student Health Center on the Round Rock campus?
Yes

9. Will my diploma read “Texas State University at Round Rock”?
It will read Texas State University

10. Will I attend commencement on the San Marcos campus?
Commencement is only held on the San Marcos campus.

11. Is the Round Rock campus accredited by SACSCOC and individual program accrediting entities?
Yes

12. How will the Round Rock campus be different than the San Marcos campus?
Moving the departments of CDIS, PT, and RC to Round Rock to join the St. David’s School of Nursing will establish a “health campus” that has a focus on professional programs in a singular manner. This type of educational experience is similar to the Health Science Center experience found at medical schools and health science campuses.

13. Will the faculty be the same on the Round Rock campus?
Many current faculty members from CDIS, PT, and RC will be making the move to the Round Rock campus.

14. Is there a recreation center on the Round Rock campus?
Not at this time. A new YMCA facility is close to the campus, and there is a plan to form intermural sports teams for all students at Round Rock.

15. Are tuition and fees different on the Round Rock campus?
Tuition will be the same but fees will be less due to the absence of a recreation center and shuttle buses.

16. How will we know what is going on the main campus in San Marcos?
The Texas State webpage is filled with a lot of information on happenings around the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses. You will also continue to receive e-mails sent to all Texas State students.

17. What part of my degree will be completed in San Marcos and what part in Round Rock?
CDIS: Undergraduate degree – first 2 years in San Marcos, 2 final years in Round Rock
RC: Undergraduate degree - first 2 years in San Marcos, 2 final years in Round Rock
PT: DPT degree – all 3 years in Round Rock

18. Will advising appointments be offered on the San Marcos campus?
Students accepted into the programs of CDIS, PT, and RC will be advised on the Round Rock campus.

19. Will sleep diagnostic services still be offered at the San Marcos Sleep Center?
The Sleep Center will remain fully operational through August 2018. Beginning September, 2018, the Texas State Sleep Center will be relocated to Willow Hall on the Round Rock campus only. The Sleep Center in San Marcos will be closed.

20. How will clinical rotations change?
Students will no longer have clinical rotations in San Antonio and will use all existing Austin/Georgetown/Round Rock area hospitals plus Baylor/Scott & White in Temple.

21. When will the Sleep Center open in Round Rock?
September 1, 2018

22. Will I at any time have to take a course on the San Marcos campus?
The only course that will be taught on the San Marcos campus is RC 2213, Introduction to Respiratory Care for pre-RC majors each Spring semester. RC 2213 will also be taught as an online course each summer.
Courses for students in the RC major will all be taught in Round Rock.

23. How will the Round Rock campus be different than the San Marcos campus?
Moving the departments of CDIS, PT, and RC to Round Rock to join the St. David’s School of Nursing will provide a similar educational experience found at medical schools and health science campuses. In addition, collaboration between these programs in the area of research and interprofessional education will be realized.

24. What part of my degree will be completed in San Marcos and what part in Round Rock?
Undergraduate degree (BSRC) - first 2 years in San Marcos & final 2 years in Round Rock
Graduate degree (MSRC) - Online
