Round Rock Willow Hall
The new health professions building on the Round Rock Campus was completed in Spring of 2018. In May, 2018, the Department of Physical Therapy moved from San Marcos to Round Rock Campus. We are excited about this move and invite you to learn more. The state-of-the-art-building, Willow Hall, provides instructional space for the College of Health Professions' departments of Physical Therapy, Communication Disorders, and Respiratory Care and the associated research labs, the Physical Therapy and Speech-Language-Hearing Clinics, and the Respiratory Care's Sleep Center. The new building has allowed the Physical Therapy Department to grow with more research lab space and a larger Physical Therapy Clinic to serve more patients.

Why did the programs move to Round Rock?
Growth, a new spacious building will enrich the programs as follows:
- Allows increase in enrollment numbers
- New research facilities with new research opportunities
- Collaborative opportunities with area healthcare facilities

Is parking available near Willow Hall?
Parking is definitely a plus on the Round Rock campus as they do not experience the same congestion as the San Marcos campus. Parking is available within walking distance to Willow Hall.

As an admittied student, will I take all my physical therapy courses on the Round Rock campus?
Yes. Future cohorts in Physical Therapy will complete all of their program courses in Round Rock.

I'm a student in the Physical Therapy program. Where will my clinical experiences be?
Students will complete clinical experiences in a variety of healthcare settings located across Texas and the United States. Our director of clinical education works with students to assign clinical experience locations that are as convenient as possible.

What kind of housing is available near the Round Rock campus?
Texas State has worked with five apartment complexes located near the campus to offer student-friendly lease terms. There are no residence halls on the Round Rock campus. Please visit Round Rock Off-Campus Living for more information.

Will advising appointments be offered on the San Marcos campus?
No - all our advising will now be offered on the Round Rock campus. Faculty can accommodate 30-minute phone or Zoom appointments, for advising. Please call us at 512.716.2652 to make an advising appointment.

Is there a shuttle service from San Marcos to Round Rock?
No. Students and faculty with business on both campuses are responsible for their own transportation.

What happened to the Physical Therapy clinic in San Marcos?
The San Marcos clinic closed in April 2018. The Round Rock Physical Therapy Clinic is open. Appointments can be made by calling the Clinic at 512.716.2638.

Will I be able to participate in extra activities held at the San Marcos campus as a student at the Round Rock campus?
There are many opportunities for program-specific student organizations to engage in student activities in the Round Rock community. Technology will be available for students in organizations to connect with their San Marcos partners through Zoom, Skype, etc.

Food service is available in the Avery Building on the Round Rock Campus.

Commencement is only held on the San Marcos campus.

How will the Round Rock campus be different than the San Marcos campus?
Moving the departments of CDIS, PT, and RC to Round Rock to join the St. David's School of Nursing established a "health campus" that has a focus on professional programs in a singular manner. This type of educational experience is similar to the Health Science Center experience found at medical schools and health science campuses.

Will the faculty be the same on the Round Rock campus?
Most faculty members made the move to the Round Rock campus.

Is there a recreation center on the Round Rock campus?
Yes! It is located on the first floor of the Avery building.

Are tuition fees different on the Round Rock campus?
Tuition will be the same but fees will be less due to the absence of shuttle buses.

How will we know what is going on the main campus in San Marcos?
The Texas State webpage is filled with a lot of information on happenings around the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses. You will also continue to receive emails sent to all Texas State students.

What part of my degree will be completed in San Marcos and what part in Round Rock?
All 3 years of the DPT program are held in Round Rock.
